Baby Rainbow & Rainbow Kindergarten Policies

Parents must fill in a registration from to register their child at the nurseries. It is important to keep emergency contact details up to date.  All children between 3 months and 8 years old are welcome. If the nursery offer you a place, a deposit of £50 will be due to reserve it, this amount will be deducted from your first month’s fees. This is non-refundable, if you cancel the place.

ANTI-BULLYING & HARASSMENT

The nursery will investigate any reports of bullying or harassment promptly

and appropriate action will be taken.

BEHAVIOUR MANAGEMENT POLICY

If a child is being disruptive, he/she will be encouraged to participate in a quieter activity.  If we have any concern with a child’s behaviour, this will be discussed with parents.  A child will never be smacked, slapped or shaken.

CHILD ABSENCE POLICY

If your child will not be attending nursery, please contact the nursery before 8.30am. If the nursery has not been notified before 9.30am, the nursery will contact you to confirm your child’s absence, please ensure all your contact details are up to date. Thank you.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR LEARNING (ASL)

Any child with additional support FOR learning needs between 3 months and 8 years old are welcome.

CHILD PROTECTION

If the nursery has any cause to suspect a child may be at risk from abuse, it is the nurseries responsibility to inform the appropriate authorities.

CHILDREN WHO ARE UNWELL / INFECTION CONTROL POLICY

For the health and safety of your child and the other children at the nursery, if your child is unwell we cannot accept them into the nursery.  If your child is going to be absent from the nursery due to illness, it would be appreciated if parents could inform us.

Please do not bring your child to the nursery if they have anything that may be infectious for example:

  • Conjunctivitis (Red eyes with a yellow substance weeping from them).
  • Sickness or diahorrea.
  • Any unexplained rash.

If you are not sure if your child has something that may be infectious, please check with the nursery manager and doctor before your child attends the nursery.

For the health and safety of your child and other children, if your child becomes unwell in the nursery, we will contact you so you can collect your child. We would appreciate your full co-operation.  With regret, we cannot deduct sick days from the nursery fees

COLLECTING YOUR CHILD

If someone is to collect your child who does not normally do so, the nursery must be notified.  Please give their name, a description of the person and the time your child will be collected.  We cannot allow your child to leave the nursery with anyone who has not been given permission to collect him or her.

FEES

The nursery fees are reviewed yearly.

HOLIDAYS

For your holidays please complete a holiday form, it would also be appreciated if parents could give at least 2 weeks notice for their holidays.  Thank you.

NURSERY HOLIDAYS

The nursery is closed on the following days:

  • Good Friday and Easter Monday
  • September Holiday Monday
  • Christmas Holiday & New Year Holidays

Holiday dates will be confirmed in a newsletter.

MEALS

All meals are provided; therefore children do not need to bring any snacks.  For the health and safety of your child and the other children, please do not allow your child to have sweets, snacks etc in their pockets.   If any children bring sweets or snacks into the nursery, staff have the right to put sweets etc away for the children to eat outside the nursery, after their session ends.  Your co-operation with this matter would be much appreciated.  Thank you.

OPEN ACCESS

Parents are welcome to read any records regarding their child at any time they wish to do so.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT POLICY

The nursery will encourage parents to be involved with their child’s development and progress within the nursery.

PLAY CLOTHES

Although the children wear aprons while doing activities, we strongly advise parents to ensure their children attend the nursery in play clothes.  This would reduce the risk of special clothes being spoilt with an accidental spill of paint or glue.

TOYS FROM HOME

It would be appreciated if toys were left at home.  This would also save us having to look for a lost toy at the end of a nursery session. If any child brings a toy into the nursery, we will not accept responsibility for any toys lost or damaged.  Staff have the right to put any toys away safely until home time.  For the health and safety of all the children, pennies etc must never be brought into the nursery.

REGISTRATION AND INSURANCE

The nursery is registered and insured between the hours of 8am and 6pm. All children must be collected before the nursery closes at 6pm.  We do understand that occasionally a parent may be late collecting their child.  If any parent is consistently late, they will be charged for this.

We would be delighted to hear any comments you may have regarding the nursery.  If you have a complaint, please contact the nursery’s manageress without hesitation.  We cannot solve any problems we do not know about.  The problem will then be dealt with promptly, and we would hope it could be solved immediately.
